Frequently Asked Questions

  • I offer both in-person and virtual sessions.

I have in-person sessions available on Mondays. My office address is 252 Java Street, Suite 337, Brooklyn, NY 11222.

I also provide telehealth treatment. I provide a secure HIPAA compliant link for us to meet via video. When meeting virtually, I ask clients to have a safe, secure, and quiet location for our sessions.

  • Yes, I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation.

During the call we will be able to explore if we are a good fit for each other.

This will be a time for you to share briefly about what’s bringing you into therapy now and ask any questions that you might have. I will also share more about my approach and what next steps look like working together.

Email me at jamiefrankenberglcsw@gmail.com to schedule time to talk.

  • I am an in-network provider with Aetna. Costs and co-pays are based on your individual health plan. I work with Alma to clarify your costs before our first session.

For all other insurance carriers, I am an out-of-network provider. If you are using out-of-network coverage, you will pay in full for the session, and then I will provide you with a receipt for all services (a superbill) for you to submit to your insurance plan for reimbursement.

If you are planning to use out-of-network benefits, please contact your insurance plan to help clarify your coverage before we begin working together. Below are some helpful questions you can ask:

    1. Do I have out-of-network mental health (or behavioral health) insurance benefits?

    2. What is my out-of-network deductible (if any) and has it been met yet by other medical expenses?

    3. What is the coverage amount (or percentage) per therapy session after my deductible has been met?

    4. What is the process for submitting claims?

  • My full out-of-pocket rate is $250/session. A limited number of reduced fee, sliding scale services are also available. If you’re interested in working with me and cost is prohibitive, please let me know and we can discuss possible options.

  • I kindly ask for 24 hours notice of cancellation. You will be charged for appointments that are cancelled with less than 24 hours notice. Note that insurance companies cannot provide reimbursement for missed sessions.
